The Museum opened an exhibition of Ukrainian diaspora “Twice over the ocean” in which samples of Ukrainian art and graphics, recently brought to Ukraine from the United States.

As the KV, 120 paintings the museum has received well-known Ukrainian artist Catherine Krichevskaya-Rosandich and Elena Ovchinnikova, now living in the United States, the press service of the KSCA.

“These paintings are written in our Kiev Ukrainian artist, crossed the ocean twice. For the first time – when the authors had to leave their native land, and the second – when they were donated to our museum,” – said Deputy Chairman of Kyiv City State Administration Anna Starostenko.

Most of the works that were previously stored in a private collection are extraordinary historical and artistic value. This, in particular, watercolors, written by Catherine Krichevsky and Vasily Krichevsky in 1943, before leaving the occupied Kiev, landscapes Nicholas Krichevsky, written in Paris and Venice as early as the 30s of the last century.

In the hall exhibition features 21 works by the artist Elena Ovchinnikova. She gave to the Museum of the Ukrainian diaspora works written in the 60-80s of the last century in Ukraine. This sample the easel, book drawing and watercolors with clear national flavor.

The exhibition runs until January 18, 2016 at the Museum of Ukrainian Diaspora at st. Moscow, 40-B.
